MERCHANT & EVANS, INC.

UNLIMITED CAPABILITES TO ADAPT ON THE FLY

When Merchant & Evans, Inc. was awarded this prestigious project by Crown Corr, Inc., it was an extremely gratifying day for everyone here! We were proud to learn that not only were we awarded the project based on our pricing but also because of the reputation of our ZIP-RIB® panel system, our expert Engineering capabilities as well as our knowledge and manufacturing experience to handle such a complicated and unique building design.

With all new construction projects, delays are inevitable.  The delays on this project however created some unique challenges for both M&E as well as Crown Corr. The original plan of action was to site roll form and curve our .040 aluminum 16” ZIP-RIB® panels on the ground in order for Crown Corr to bundle and hoist the formed panels to the roof areas in bulk for installation.  Due to the delays, we no longer were afforded the same areas in order to complete these manufacturing processes and we were informed that the manufacturing area was only approximately 70’ from the building structure. This created a manufacturing dilemma to try to produce 146’ long curved panels on the Concourse buildings and 220’ long curved panels on the Core buildings in an area less than half the length of the panels.
